Celine Hayek, DVM
Hi! My name is Celine Hayek. I was born in Wimbledon, England, being the youngest of 3 children. Just after age 3, my family & I moved to Southern California, including my German Shepherd, Zax, and Shih Tzu, Leeko. Growing up with animals provided me with a wealth of understanding for them; however, I did not realize my special interest in them until a close family friend pointed out how gentle I was with Leeko and her puppies (which at the time were adults).
A spark was ignited! I joined the ROP program, Animal Health Care, and worked at Animal Urgent Care in Mission Viejo as a technician for years. It was during this time that I met and worked with Dr. Matthew Wheaton. I had attended undergraduate school at Cal Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, studying Animal Science. Between schooling, I worked and volunteered in the animal field. I also took part in the Ewe Project at school, caring for newborn lambs. In 2006, I attended St. George’s University in the West Indies (Caribbean) for veterinary school and my last year was devoted to clinics at University of Pennsylvania. I graduated veterinary school in 2010 and immediately started two years of internships at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura, California. My first year of interning included working in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Oncology, and Radiology. My second year was devoted to Oncology and Radiology.
I started working in Orange County in 2012 and continue to work in my hometown. There is no other place I would rather be, but here in Sunny So Cal. Currently I live with my two adopted dogs, Dulce (De Leche), a chihuahua, and Pace, a terrier mix. Every chance we have, we go out for a hike up in the hills or at the beach. Fortunately, my dogs took to my husband very well and so our hikes are even more fulfilling! Currently, my other interests include, photography, tennis, swimming, and keeping a positive attitude!
I feel very fortunate to work at Alicia Pet Care Center - to be able to work with a wonderful staff and provide excellent veterinary care for you and your family.
