In honor of World Veterinary Day, a California-based animal hospital took to TikTok to share several tips they believe every pet owner should know. The video, posted to TikTok on April 30 by Alicia Pet Care Center (@apccvet), has amassed more than 300,000 views and over 500 comments from appreciative viewers, many of whom said the tips were potentially life-saving.

Rocky, an 11-month-old German shepherd, came alive when veterinarian Matthew Wheaton entered the room.
The pup, first timid and shy, tumbled over for a belly rub. Wheaton obliged. While Rocky licked his face, Wheaton checked the bandage covering the pup’s stump leg.
Wheaton concluded, based on ligature marks, the pup had chewed off his own foot.

Avet clinic has shared the hilarious moment a male veterinarian was taken aback as he went to greet a new patient, only to learn that she hates men.
Family-owned Alicia Pet Care Center (APCC) in Orange County, California, shared the light-hearted moment on their TikTok page where it has been viewed more than 7 million times. In the video, the vet tech went to greet the patient only to find the sign on the door that read: “Bella hates men.”

Sunday, Azelia was one of 51 dogs from throughout the county to win a free spay or neuter at the Alicia Pet Care Center. The event honored Ford Peterson, a long- time employee and friend of the clinic, who died suddenly on Feb. 11. Petersen, 21, had spent the last four summers interning at the vet clinic with a plan of attending U.C. Davis’ veterinary school.
