Are you familiar with TeleDoc services being provided by human doctors? Here at Alicia Pet Care, we are offering a very similar service. Teledoc or telemedicine is a great new option that gives you the opportunity to see a doctor via video consult to determine if we can resolve your concerns without having to schedule an in-person exam to our hospital. There are certain cases where we might be able to treat your pet from home with simple medications. But, if the doctor determines that it is in your pet’s best interest to have an in-person physical exam, no need to worry about paying for an exam fee twice. The in-hospital exam fee is waived as long as you go in to the hospital the same day as your telemedicine appointment. We are trying to balance doing what is best for your fur babies while helping to keep you and your two-legged family members safe during this time of social distancing.
Disclaimer: Telemedicine does not replace an in-person physical exam nor does it reset your pet’s reminder for an annual exam. So if your pet does not improve with the advice given by the telehealth doctor, we ask you to alert the hospital immediately and bring your pet in for an in-person physical exam.
About The Author
Dr. Melissa Rellinger | I am so happy to be part of the Alicia Pet Care Center team where I can help your pets thrive! I have always loved animals and decided early on that caring for animals would be my lifelong commitment. I was very fortunate to grow up in both Southern California and the Philippines, as having lived in such distinctly different countries and cultures gave me a richness of experiences and a foundation of flexibility, openness, and wanderlust. My family is comprised of ardent animal lovers, so even though I grew up as an only child, I was always surrounded by dog “siblings.” Being around our pups helped cultivate feelings of compassion, empathy, and an urge to help them when they could not help themselves.
